This document is meant to be an outline of our strategic objectives to provide direction to the society executive in the development of more detailed objectives, and to provide a framework for future activities and efforts of the society.
Our initial proposal is to outline the following priorities of focus for our society.
- PRACTICE QUALITY: Promote a high quality of practice in clinical nuclear medicine through policy and standards development, education, promotion of scientific advancements in the field.
- PATIENT ACCESS: Advocating for equitable and timely access to nuclear medicine services for all patients in British Columbia, with a practice scope comparable to other jurisdictions in Canada and abroad.
- FAIR COMPENSATION: Addressing compensation concerns for affiliated professionals.
- MEMBER ENGAGEMENT: Developing strategies to better understand the needs of professionals working in Nuclear Medicine.
- DATA SHARING FOR IMPROVED PLANNING: The society will attempt to inform Nuclear Medicine policy development and planning for infrastructure and manpower needs in BC through the gathering and sharing of data between siloed organizations to ensure decisions are made with fulsome understanding of total system impacts of choices across multiple organizations.
- DEVELOPING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH ALLIED ORGANIZATIONS: Working on establishing relationships with key stakeholders and decisionmakers in government, healthcare administration, and industry to advance the science and practice of nuclear medicine in British Columbia
